Namibia
However well travelled and knowledgeable you are about the world we live in no visitor to Namibia fails to be moved by this vast land of contrasting landscapes. Wedged between the Kalahari Desert and the chilly South Atlantic, it is bordered by South Africa in the south, Botswana to the east and Angola to the north.

Namibia is a desolate and vast country of compelling beauty and spectacular landscapes, of desert sand dunes, geological wonders and wildlife. The brooding Namib Desert where the towering red dunes of Sossusvlei are the largest in the world lies along the Atlantic Ocean contrasting with the tree skeletons in the Deadvlei. Further north are the eerie desert shores and treacherous rocks of the desolate Skeleton Coast. Venturing inland are the petrified forests of Damaraland where endangered desert elephant and black rhino are to be found. Here also in the desolate mountains are a multitude of rock engravings depicting scenes thousands of years old. Etosha National Park, in the north, is based around a huge pan surrounded by grasslands and scrub whilst the Caprivi Strip has lush vegetation and riverine forests, both are renowned for their wildlife. Way down south is The Fish River Canyon - the 2nd largest in the world after the Grand Canyon, here you will also find wild horses and deserted ghost towns that once housed those who were searching for diamonds.

This ageless land has dinosaur footprints, ancient fossil plants, memorable wildlife and extensive salt-pans interspersed with captivating desert wilderness. It is rich in colonial history and cultural diversity, and still sparsely populated it has a timeless quality.

There are three main ways to explore Namibia - by light aircraft, being driven by a guide or exploring on a self-drive trip. Because of the vast distances light aircraft is a great way to ensure that you maximise your time there and seeing Namibia from the air is spectacular! However bear in mind that you will be restricted to a maximum of 10KG of luggage. Being driven is another great option as you will be able to relax and enjoy the scenery without worrying about getting lost - or refilling your petrol tank. But for the really adventurous a self-drive trip in your own 4X4 is a truly memorable experience. We will ensure that you are met at the airport and fully briefed by one of our partners on the ground out there. We recommend a stay overnight in Windhoek to get oriented and recover from the International flight and then fully briefed and refreshed you can set off on your adventure.
